WorldPride Amsterdam 2026: Where to Go, What to Expect & Where to Stay

🌈 WorldPride Amsterdam 2026

Amsterdam already knows how to do Pride. In 2026, it goes worldwide.

From 25 July to 8 August, WorldPride Amsterdam brings parades, parties, culture, nightlife and community events across the city. The theme is UNITY, and Amsterdam is the right place for it: open, creative, walkable and full of places to gather.

Planning the trip? Here’s what to know.

Amsterdam does Pride differently. The biggest moment happens on the canals, not the streets. Boats move through the city, bridges fill up, music takes over and the centre becomes one huge celebration.

For 2026, WorldPride brings that energy to an international level. Expect big events, local nightlife, cultural programming and moments that feel spontaneous in the best way.

🚤 Canal Parade: Pride on the Water

The Canal Parade is the main event.

On Saturday 1 August 2026, decorated boats will move through Amsterdam’s waterways from 12:00 to 18:00. Expect colour, music, packed bridges and one of Europe’s most iconic Pride celebrations.

Arrive early, pick your spot and stay there. Once the crowds build, moving around the centre gets tricky.

🚶 Pride Walk & Pride Park: The Opening Day

WorldPride opens with Pride Walk from Dam to Vondelpark, followed by Pride Park.

This is a good first-day plan if you want the atmosphere without jumping straight into the biggest crowds. Expect music, community events, activities and plenty of space to ease into the week.

Check the latest timings on the official WorldPride events agenda before you go.

🎶 Street Parties: The City Takes Over

On 31 July and 1 August, Amsterdam’s WorldPride street parties bring the celebration into the city centre.

Bars get busy, squares turn into meeting points and the whole city feels switched on. Keep your night simple: choose a meeting point, stay close to your group and don’t rely on “I’ll find you later.”

You probably won’t.

🏳️‍🌈 WorldPride Village: The Final Week Hub

From 5 to 8 August, Museumplein becomes home to WorldPride Village.

It’s the place to go for LGBTQIA+ organisations, cultural events, social spaces and a more community-led side of the programme. The final week also includes major moments like the Human Rights Conference, Wedding Party XXL, the WorldPride March and the Closing Concert.

Can’t make Canal Parade weekend? The second week still has plenty going on.
